If it ain’t natural and from the earth, it doesn’t need to touch a plant. We work the soil not chemicals. Our mission is to provide an ecologically friendly crop, grown with love, and harvested with friends. We want to have a hand in building strong communities and encouraging the eating healthy and supporting responsible stewards of the land.

To us land stewardship is much more than just farming it is a pact with our piece of earth and our community. We want to improve each one.

It is our firm belief that people don’t have to be farmers or plants to make a difference. Here the consumer is just as important as the producer. By supporting us (and other small farms), our aronia berry products, they in turn are not only getting healthy products for their family but they are also supporting local Iowa industry. The midwest is unique because of its great cities, traditions, and values. By supporting our berry farm, local farmers, apple orchards, artisans, martkets, buying locally, and eating seasonally, etc; we are doing more than just buying products. At our aronia festival it makes sense to have local artists. Keeping all of us in business allows for positive stewardship of the land, scenic getaways for city dwellers, providing outlests for artists we are able to keep and promote the great culture Iowa has developed. Our success is predicated on one another.

That is the way we look at it. For instance, we have nonprofit groups pick aronia berries on our farm to raise money for their worthy causes (we have tons of berries we need more help!) We work with local businesses to develop products that are of the highest quality. In turn we all become producers not just consumers. And we begin to invest in something much more than our immediate well being, but that of our communities. By fostering a sense of place we create healthy, livable communities. We welcome nonprofit groups to help pick our berries and in-turn raise money for their organizations, but we don’t look at it as a cost but an investment. We always look forward to helping people learn about the aronia berry and farming, if you are interested in apprenticeships please let us know- we will be evaluating applications. We are proud to invest in our surrounding communities.
